Lucky Streak

A couple weeks ago I entered a lovely giveaway on Rebecca Ersfeld's A Repurposed Life blog to win this gorgeous handmade collage pocket. Truly, the photos don't do it justice because it is much more beautiful in person.

 There are so many exquisite details. . . .

 Like this tattered bird tag and the polka-dotted sheer ribbon tied on the wire hanger. 

However, as if the lacy pocket wasn't enough . . . 

 Rebecca tucked lots of vintage goodies inside the pocket.

 Just look at all of this . . . 

 I was like a kid opening my stocking on Christmas morning!

I can't begin to tell you how grateful I am to Rebecca, for offering such a generous prize.

I hate Blogger!!! I don't know about any of you, but this new Blogger format is for the birds! I scheduled a blog post for today - I had the whole thing composed, I previewed it, saved it and scheduled the post for publication this morning. However, when I checked my blog this morning - the post was empty!!! ARRRGH! I had to do the entire post all over again...what a pain! The crabapple trees in the yard are my favorite when they are covered in their delicate flowers. I have both pink and white varieties and they usually bloom like clockwork right around Mother's Day. All the flowering plants are blooming a whole month early this year due to the warm temperatures we had last month. I really can't remember a time when the flowers and trees were more beautiful than they are this year.

Good Friday Fill-Ins

Here we go!

1. Eggs are best when they are chocolate.

2. Caribou Coffee's Turtle Mocha is awesome!

3. When I look in the mirror, I say, "Who the heck is that?".
4. Chicken Marsala and White Chocolate Raspberry Cheesecake for dessert - these are the things I like for a special dinner!
5. Currently, I am reading "Strengthsfinder 2.0" by Tom Rath.
6. I have no interest in seeing The Hunger Games.

7. And as for the weekend, tonight I'm looking forward to a quiet evening at home, tomorrow my plans include going to the flea market and Sunday, I want to celebrate Easter!

I noticed today that the buds on the crabapple trees have bloomed. It is such a pretty sight...the pink ones...and the white ones. They are a whole month early in their show. Usually they are in full bloom on Mother's Day. (Can't beat that for a Mother's Day gift, can you?) The lilacs have bloomed also. It's funny, you look away for a minute and suddenly Mother Nature paints everything in color!
