Forty years ago today, I met my beloved. It really doesn't seem that long ago. I had just graduated from high school. He was an "older man" by 3 whole years. I was from the north side and he was from the south side. We met while biking along the lake front in Chicago. It was the beginning of a wonderful life together. I miss him.

Oh, Jeanne. What a dear picture. It is a special anniversary. I am having a period of sadness today, too. Funny that I was pulled to check your blog first. Just know I am thinking of you and hope the sadness is bearable and not the deeper kind.

A bittersweet memory for sure. It's good to pull out old pictures and remember the happy times...even when it makes us cry.
