I was getting ready to go to work. I couldn't believe what I was seeing. Went to work and one of my co-worker's was beside herself because her DH was in Manhattan on business at the time. (He turned out to be fine). I don't think we got any work done at all that day. We all were just glued to the TV and it was nice to just all be together.
I was in the USA in San Francisco on this day, and even though I am not American I felt sick to the core, and just as violated. we should never forget this, and continue to pray for those who's lives changed that day.
I was helping my father drive across country to a new home. My husband rang me and said that something awful had happened, as our daughter was travelling in Europe my first thoughts were that something had happened to her. Such a terrible thing to happen. As an Australian it is something that I never forget and my heart goes out to those lost and their loved ones left behind. Alison
that is the same photo i chose...i think the one i found is from a different angle though...i think that picture is SO poignant and screams american spirit and resilience...i had worked the night before and didn't even know about the attacks until i called my mother and she told me...i turned on my tv and watched in horror with tears running down my face as i saw what had been done to our country...both of my boys have been to the flight 93 memorial in shanksville pa...our school takes the sixth grade on a visit there every year on the way to their field trip in hershey...i am so proud that our school system pays their respect to the heroes on that flight...when my youngest was getting ready for the filed trip last year, the father of Todd Beamer..."let's roll"....came to visit them at their school...what a privilege and an honor!!!

At home watching it all unfold on TV. We visited ground zero this summer and the memorial. Very heart breaking, very real, very eye opening.
