Happy Valentine's Day

Happy *heart* day to you all! Does anyone have anything fun planned for today? Not sure yet what hubby and I will be doing, but I'm sure it will involve dinner out tonight. . .well, at least I hope so!
I have to tell you about an eerie coincidence between my pal Heather and I that occurred during our "For the LOVE of Supplies Valentine Swap." When Heather's beautiful heart box arrived, I immediately sent her an email to say thank you for all the goodies she sent. Heather then asked me if I looked underneath the candy tray, which I had not. The coincidental part was what I found there. On top of the pile of papers was a vintage prescription from a "Dr. Byers", from Belvidere, Illinois. Now Heather lives in California, but I live less than an hour from Belvidere. And guess what? My maiden name is BYERS! Isn't that spooky? Unfortunately, we don't have a doctor in our family, so Dr. Byers is not a relative of mine. . .at least not one that I know of. Isn't it fascinating how pieces of vintage ephemera can travel around the country (or world) and end up right back where they started?

  2. Happy Valentine's to you too! We are taking the kids to Red Lobster and I made the kids heart-shaped pancakes for breaky. I had a similar coincidence with my swap. It seems are partners are very in tuned with what we like.

  3. Hi Jeanne!!!
    Happy Valentine's Day to you!

I got your message about not receiving the partner email for the Nest Swap... I resent it yesterday, but it looks like you still didn't get it. Yikes! I will try again right now. If I doesn't come through, let me know... I will try from my other email account.

  4. Hi Again:)
I just mailed it from my other account... maybe it is ending up in your spam folder or something? Too funny. :)

Anyways, if you don't get it, Laurie is your partner. Her blog is:

  7. Your blog is great...I feel like I have definitely been here b4, but must not have noticed you lived in the Chicago area. Always keeping my eye out for other creative souls who live nearby. I am glad you mentioned (in a prior post) Junk Warehouse. I live south of there, but think I will check it out this weekend. Thanks!
